What Are You Going to Do for Yourself This Year?
What does the new year bring out in you? Is it a time for reflection? Is it a time to set goals? Is it a time to dream big?
In all honesty, I hope it’s a time for you to do all of those things.
Some people see the new year as a chance for a fresh start. Others see it as a chance to reach new goals. No matter which camp you fall into, there’s no denying that the new year does bring new opportunities.
And that’s my question: What are you going to do for yourself this year? What are you going to do with those opportunities?
Last week, we talked about setting goals – and that’s definitely something you want to do in the new year! You want to start the year strong – and know what you want to get out of it! (Making sure, of course, that you have strategies in place to get you there!)
But there are some other smaller things I want you to think about doing this year – because I think they’ll be beneficial to you on many levels.
Surround Yourself With Like-Minded People
Have you found your tribe? That group that supports you in your career? That collection of friends who listen to your ideas and are there for you through thick and thin? If not, find them this year.
Yes, you can talk to your spouse or family member about your career, but sometimes they just don’t get it. No matter how hard they try.
That’s why you want to find a group who “gets” what you’re doing. Those are your people – and they’ll be there for you.
I know what a difference it made for me when I found those women.
Spend Time Learning
We will never know everything we need to know. Never. And that’s why we can never stop learning.
Whether it’s learning new strategies to help you reach your goals, mastering the latest Reel, or taking a class to help you and your career – DO IT! You will never regret learning something new.
Celebrate Your Successes
Too often, when we’re busy trying to reach those goals, we forget to celebrate the little milestones we accomplish along the way. This year – don’t forget to celebrate them!
It’s a great way to help you stay motivated and working towards those bigger goals! Plus, couldn’t we all use a little more positivity in our day-to-day lives? I know I sure can!
Ask for What You Need (and Deserve)
As women, we want to do it all – but try as we might – it’s sometimes just not possible. And that’s why you can’t be afraid to ask for what you need – and deserve.
Need help with a project? Ask for it!
Need a night out with friends? Ask for it!
Deserve a raise at work? Ask for it!
Want a promotion? Ask for it!
Need someone’s expertise? Ask for it!
You might be surprised at how often the person you’re asking gives you what you need and deserve!
Do not spend 2022 doubting yourself. Be confident. Be confident in all you do.
When you radiate confidence, you will find that you attract the people and things you need in your life!
Share Your Expertise
And finally, give back when you can by sharing your expertise. Others can benefit from what you have to share – and it’s a great way to network and help you to find your tribe (if you’re looking).
So, tell me…what are you going to do for yourself this year? I can’t wait to hear what you have planned!
